Job Title: Phlebotomist I
Job Location: Commack NY
Job Duration: 2 Months (possibility of extension)
Shift: A Schedule 7:00-3:30pm. B schedule 8-3:30pm pm Saturday 7-12pm
Pay Range : $18.20 - $20/hr 


Position Summary:

The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the face of the company, welcoming patients who arrive for routine health visits or important diagnostic testing. The PSR I is responsible for skillfully and safely collecting quality blood specimens and preparing them for laboratory analysis in accordance with established procedures. This role plays a key part in creating a trustworthy and confident environment for patients, explaining procedures clearly, and ensuring accurate and confidential handling of patient information.




Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily activities accurately, efficiently, and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.

  • Maintain a safe, professional, and organized environment for both patients and staff.

  • Demonstrate confidence and proficiency in collecting and processing both forensic and clinical specimens.

  • Maintain all required records and documentation in accordance with company standards.

  • Provide outstanding customer service by promoting a positive company image to patients, clients, coworkers, and the public.

  • Accurately use electronic medical record (EMR) systems and demonstrate competency in keyboard/data entry.

  • Use straight needles proficiently for phlebotomy procedures.




Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Ability to provide accurate, high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Excellent phlebotomy skills, including experience with pediatric and geriatric patients.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to create a welcoming and supportive environment for patients.

  • Flexible availability, including willingness to work weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, and overtime as needed.

  • Basic computer proficiency and experience using EMR systems.

  • High attention to confidentiality and detail.




Education & Certification:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Required)




Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum 6 months of relevant experience required.
