Phlebotomist II
Location: Carmel IN
Duration: 3 Months+ (Possibilities of Extension)
Shift: Mon - Fri 8am - 5pm OR 7:30am-4:30pm
Position Overview
The Patient Services Representative II serves as the primary point of contact for patients and represents the organization with professionalism, empathy, and accuracy. The PSR II performs high-quality blood collection, prepares specimens for laboratory testing, and ensures all procedures are completed according to established standards. This role requires strong patient interaction skills, the ability to create a calm and trusting environment, and adherence to confidentiality and accuracy of patient information. Assignments may include work at doctor’s offices, patient service centers, or other locations based on business needs.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Interaction & Specimen Collection

Perform clinical and forensic specimen collection with accuracy and confidence.

Draw high-quality blood samples, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.

Explain procedures to patients while ensuring comfort, safety, and trust.

Verify patient demographics and confirm labeling accuracy with patient signature post-venipuncture.

Prepare specimens for laboratory testing following established protocols.
Operational Excellence

Complete daily tasks accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.

Maintain a clean, safe, and professional environment.

Adhere to all company Policies & Procedures, including dress code, health & safety, and confidentiality.

Keep accurate records and required documentation.

Demonstrate organizational commitment and present a positive image to patients, clients, peers, and the public.
Customer Service & Communication

Provide superior customer service in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Communicate clearly and professionally with patients, supervisors, and peers.

Flexibility & Travel

Work independently with minimal on-site supervision.

Be available for flexible scheduling, including weekends, holidays, on-call assignments, and overtime.

Travel as required to multiple locations or cover service centers on short notice.

Maintain reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record (when applicable).
Job Requirements
Skills & Abilities
-
High-quality, error-free work performance in fast-paced environments.
-
Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric experience.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in high-volume settings.

Good judgment and decision-making based on established procedures.

Proficiency in keyboarding and data entry.
Education
-
High school diploma or equivalent required.
-
Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
-
Phlebotomy certification preferred (and required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
Work Experience
-
1–3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections required.
