Shift: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Job Description
The Entry-Level Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) is the welcoming face of the organization, ensuring a positive experience for patients during their visit. This role focuses on exceptional customer service, assisting patients with check-in, answering questions, and maintaining a professional and organized waiting area.
This is an entry-level position into Phlebotomy, offering training and growth opportunities for candidates willing to learn and perform phlebotomy duties. The individual will support patient care and assist with coverage during breaks for other phlebotomists.
The PSR I will demonstrate compassion, professionalism, and confidentiality while creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence for patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet patients upon arrival and assist with check-in using self-service kiosks or handheld tablets.
- Provide exceptional customer service and address patient questions with care and empathy.
- Maintain the integrity and cleanliness of the waiting area.
- Assist with coverage during breaks for phlebotomists.
- Learn and develop phlebotomy skills during downtime; once trained, confidently perform specimen collection and processing following established procedures.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Promote a positive image of the organization to patients, clients, and the public.
- Ensure confidentiality and accuracy of patient information.
Required Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent – Required
Experience
- 1–2 years of client-facing customer service experience – Required (Retail, hospitality, home health aide, etc.)
- Prior phlebotomy experience – Not required
- Keyboarding/data entry proficiency – Required
Additional Requirements
- Must be willing to learn and perform phlebotomy duties; candidates seeking only front desk roles should not apply.
- Reliable personal transportation required (bus, Uber, rideshare not acceptable).
- Must be punctual, available for scheduled shifts, and able to stay for the entire shift.
- Excessive absenteeism or tardiness will result in termination.
- Candidates must reside within a 20–25 minute commute to the worksite; home city and commute time must be listed on the resume.
