This role requires advanced phlebotomy skills and a commitment to quality, safety, and professionalism. The PSR II is responsible for collecting and preparing high-quality specimens for laboratory testing while ensuring a positive, patient-focused experience.

The PSR II is responsible for collecting and preparing high-quality specimens for laboratory testing while ensuring a positive, patient-focused experience.
Core Responsibilities:
- Perform daily operations with accuracy and timeliness under supervisor direction.
- Collect blood specimens using venipuncture, capillary, and dermal techniques across diverse patient populations (pediatric, adult, geriatric).
- Conduct both clinical and forensic specimen collections while following strict protocols.
- Verify patient identity and ensure all specimens are labeled in the patient’s presence with complete demographic details and signatures.
- Maintain proper specimen handling, storage, and documentation to ensure testing accuracy.
- Create a safe, clean, and professional clinical environment.
- Support front office operations when needed, including patient check-in, data entry, and scheduling.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA and OSHA standards.
- Travel between locations and provide coverage with minimal notice, including weekends and holidays.
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED – Required
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of phlebotomy experience including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections
Skills:
- Exceptional phlebotomy skills across all age groups.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service excellence.
- Sound judgment and the ability to work independently.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Demonstrated leadership behaviors and flexibility with scheduling.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record (if applicable).
