Job Title: Certified Medical Coder – Inpatient
Location: Bronx, NY 10461
Duration: 02/02/2026 – 05/09/2026
Shift Time: 8:00 AM–4:00 PM
Schedule: 5 days per week, 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week
Pay Rate: $35 - $38/hr.
Schedule Notes: This role is remote now, with 1–2 weeks of onsite training at the start – the Hiring Manager is flexible. Experience Requirements: Must have EPIC and 3M experience. CCS certification required. Ideal candidate has both inpatient and outpatient coding experience. Must have previous experience working with Clinical Documentation Specialists. Work Arrangement: Starts onsite for training, then transitions to remote work once duties are mastered. Seeking certified coders with strong inpatient coding background. Candidate should be able to work with minimal training.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Three years of experience.

• Knowledge of ICD-10.

Education Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED.

• AHIMA credentials including RHIA or RHIT and/or CCP or CCS.

• Perform medical coding in an acute care setting.

• Utilize proficient computer skills including MS Word, Excel, ICD-9-CM, CPT-4, and encoder tools.

• Apply coding guidelines, payor guidelines, and federal billing guidelines.

• Demonstrate knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and disease processes.

• Research and resolve coding-related issues.

• Participate in coder training activities.

• Utilize CCS certification and 3M/HDS coding applications.

• Perform inpatient and emergency department coding.
