Job Summary
The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the primary point of contact for patients, representing the face of the company. This role is responsible for collecting high-quality blood specimens and preparing them for laboratory testing while following established procedures. The PSR I creates a professional, safe, and reassuring environment for patients, explaining procedures clearly and performing specimen collection accurately and skillfully. The role requires strong attention to confidentiality, accuracy, and process excellence, while demonstrating leadership behaviors and organizational commitment.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care & Specimen Collection

Perform clinical and forensic blood specimen collection following established practices and procedures

Provide clear explanations to patients to create trust and confidence

Ensure specimens are prepared correctly for laboratory testing
-
Deliver safe, accurate, and skillful phlebotomy services for patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric
Operational Duties

Perform daily work activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor

Maintain required records, documentation, and data entry
-
Ensure compliance with confidentiality and patient information standards

Job Requirements
Skills & Abilities

Ability to produce high-quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment

Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision

Strong customer service skills

Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections

Proficiency in keyboarding and data entry
Availability

Flexible schedule required

Must be available for weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, and overtime as needed
Education Requirements
-
High school diploma or equivalent (Required)
-
Medical training such as medical assistant or paramedic training (Preferred)
-
Phlebotomy certification (Preferred; Required in California, Nevada, and Washington)
Work Experience
-
Minimum of 6 months phlebotomy experience (Required)
-
One or more years of phlebotomy experience (Preferred)
-
Customer service experience in a retail or service environment (Preferred)
