Phlebotomist II
Location: Leesburg VA
Duration: 3months
Shift: Monday-Thursday 8am-4pm, Friday 8am-12pm
Position Summary:
The PSR II represents the face of the company to patients—whether visiting for routine health needs or life-impacting health decisions. This role involves collecting high-quality blood samples, preparing specimens for laboratory testing, and ensuring patient trust and comfort throughout the process. The PSR II must perform duties in accordance with established protocols while demonstrating leadership, confidentiality, and process excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Interaction & Specimen Collection:

Draws quality blood specimens using proper technique for both clinical and forensic purposes.

Explains procedures to patients to foster understanding, trust, and cooperation.

Verifies patient demographics and obtains patient signature post-venipuncture to ensure accuracy in labeling.

Handles pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections confidently.
Operational Excellence:

Performs daily tasks accurately, safely, and on time under supervision.

Maintains required documentation and records.

Keeps work environment safe, clean, and professional.
Customer Service & Representation:

Promotes a positive image to patients, clients, staff, and the public.

Upholds a superior level of customer service and communicates transparently with all stakeholders.

Job Requirements:
Technical & Interpersonal Skills:
-
Strong phlebotomy skills (including pediatric and geriatric).
-
Accurate, error-free performance in a fast-paced environment.

Capable of prioritizing multiple tasks in high-volume settings.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Must exercise sound judgment and decision-making based on procedures.
Availability & Flexibility:

Flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, and overtime.

Must be able to travel and cover multiple Patient Service Centers or In-Office Phlebotomy locations with minimal notice.

Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and a clean driving record (if applicable).
Education & Certification:
-
Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
-
Preferred: Medical assistant or paramedic training.
-
Certification: Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
Experience:

Required:
-
Minimum 3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.

Preferred:

At least 2 years in a Patient Service Center environment.

Experience in customer service, especially in retail or service industries.
-
Proficiency in keyboarding and data entry.
