Job Title: Phlebotomist I (PSR I)
Job Location: Norwich, CT
Job Duration: 5+ Months
Shift: 5:30 AM to 10:30 AM Must work every other weekend.
Job Description:
The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) is the face of our company to patients, whether they are seeking routine care or insights into critical health decisions. The PSR I is responsible for drawing high-quality blood samples and preparing specimens for lab testing, while adhering to established practices and procedures. This position involves direct interaction with patients, ensuring a trusted and confident environment by clearly explaining procedures and performing blood draws skillfully, safely, and accurately. The PSR I will demonstrate leadership behaviors, focusing on process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy in managing patient information. Successful applicants may be assigned to work at a doctor s office, a patient service center, or other locations as business needs require.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.

Maintain a safe, professional, and welcoming environment for both patients and staff.

Confidently manage both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties, following established protocols.

Verify patient demographic information, initials, and patient signature post-venipuncture to confirm proper labeling of specimens.

Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with policies and procedures.

Promote a positive company image by providing excellent service to patients, clients, employees, and the general public.
Job Requirements:

Ability to deliver high-quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, following established procedures.

Strong phlebotomy skills, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.

Flexibility to meet staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.

Commitment to company policies and procedures, including dress code, employee health and safety, and Everyday Excellence Guiding Principles.

Ability to make decisions based on established procedures and sound judgment.

Reliable transportation, a valid driver s license, and a clean driving record, if applicable.

Ability to travel and work across multiple locations and provide coverage for Patient Service Centers/In-Office Phlebotomy locations with minimal notice.

Capability to handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.

Demonstrates superior customer focus and the ability to communicate openly and transparently with patients, supervisors, and peers.

Ability to embrace change and demonstrate a strong understanding of the business.
Required Education:
-
High school diploma or equivalent.
-
Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
-
Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
Work Experience:

Minimum of 6 months of experience is required.

One year or more of phlebotomy experience preferred.

Experience in customer service within a retail or service environment preferred.

Keyboard/data entry experience is essential.
