Job Title: Phlebotomist I. 

Job Duration: 4 months. 

Job Location: Miami, FL 

Shift: Mon-Fri 6:00 am - 2:00 pm / Rotational Saturday 6:30 am - 10:30 am. 

Job Description:  

  1. Draw quality blood samples from patients and prepare those specimens for lab testing while following established practices and procedures.  

  1. Have direct contact with patients and create an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures to patients and drawing blood specimens in a skillful, safe and accurate manner.  

  1. Demonstrate Leadership Behaviors while focusing on process excellence skills and sensitivity to confidentiality and accuracy to patient information.  

  1. Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.  

  1. Maintain a safe and professional environment.  

  1. Perform with confidence, both the forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures.  

  1. Perform verification of patient demographic info / initials including patient signature post-venipuncture to verify tubes were labeled in their presence and that the name on the label is correct.  

  1. Maintain required records and documentation.  

  1. Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees and the public in general. 

Requirements:  

  1. Flexible and available based on staffing needs, which includes weekends, holidays, on-call and overtime. 

  1. Work Experience: One (+) years phlebotomy experience preferred. Customer service in a retail or service environment preferred.  

  1. Required Education: High school diploma or equivalent.  

  1. Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred. 

  1. Phlebotomy certification preferred 

Skills: 

  1. Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.  

  1. Excellent phlebotomy skills to include pediatric and geriatric. 

  1. Must be able to make decisions based on established procedures and exercise good judgment.  

  1. Ability to provide quality, error free work in a fast-paced environment. Capable of handling multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.  

  1. Must demonstrate Superior Customer Focus; ability to communicate openly and transparently with peers, supervisors and patients; ability to accelerate and embrace change; and knowledge of our business.  

  1. Keyboard/data entry experience a must.
