Job Title: Interventional Technologist
Location: Tulsa, OK 74136
Duration: 3 + months
Shift: Tuesday–Friday, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM (with call)
Shift Type: Day Shift
Job Summary:
Provides advanced procedural and radiologic support to physicians; maintains a clean, well-stocked work environment; assists with pre- and post-procedural patient care; and rotates on-call responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist physicians during procedures in a sterile environment and provide patient care before and after procedures.
- Collect, assess, and document patient data with the multidisciplinary team.
- Record procedural and medical care events in Epic.
- Manage imaging and troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Provide care during various non-cardiac procedures (e.g., thrombectomies, angioplasty, biopsies, line placements, embolization, stent placements, and IVC filters).
- Adhere to the Universal Protocol for invasive procedures.
- Anticipate potential problems, adapt priorities, and plan independently.
- Monitor patients under moderate sedation; implement comfort measures as needed.
- Verify informed consent prior to procedures.
- Operate specialized equipment (e.g., rotational angiography, ultrasound guidance, contrast injectors).
- Attend vendor in-services; act as a resource for new technology and protocol implementation.
- Maintain aseptic environment; ensure all supplies and equipment are ready for daily use.
- Support departmental goals through continuing education and quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintain professional standards aligned with ARRT and ASRT guidelines.
- Train and mentor new personnel.
- Exercises independent judgment in a complex technical environment.
- Coordinates and leads activities of others (without direct supervision).
- Works directly with patients, physicians, and other healthcare staff both in person and via phone.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 6 months of related radiologic experience.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Strong knowledge of moderate sedation processes and interventional radiology equipment.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage workload effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Consistent demonstration of ethical and professional behavior.
- Capable of wearing lead aprons for extended periods.
Education Required:
- Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program
Certifications & Licensure Required:
- Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT)
- Basic Life Support (AHA)
