Phlebotomist I
Job Title: Phlebotomist I
Location: Boca Raton, FL
Duration: 5+ Months (with possibility of extension)
Shift: Monday – Friday, 6:20 AM – 3:30 PM (Rotational weekends required)
Job Summary:
The Phlebotomist I / Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the face of the organization, interacting directly with patients to collect quality blood specimens for laboratory testing. This role requires a high level of professionalism, accuracy, and compassion, ensuring patients feel confident and comfortable throughout the process. The PSR I must adhere to established procedures and demonstrate leadership behaviors, confidentiality, and process excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily tasks accurately and on time under the supervision of the area supervisor.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and professional environment.
- Collect and process forensic and clinical specimens following established protocols.
- Accurately document and maintain required records.
- Provide excellent customer service and promote a positive image of the organization.
- Explain procedures to patients and ensure a comfortable experience.
- Demonstrate flexibility in scheduling, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.
Qualifications:
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
- Medical Assistant or Paramedic training (Preferred)
- Phlebotomy Certification (Preferred; Required in CA, NV, WA)
Experience:
- Minimum 6 months of phlebotomy experience (Required)
- 1+ years of phlebotomy experience (Preferred)
- Experience with pediatric and geriatric patients (Preferred)
- Customer service experience in retail or service environment (Preferred)
- Keyboard/data entry proficiency (Required)
Additional Requirements:
- Must reside within a 20–25 minute commute of the job site.
- Reliable transportation is mandatory (rideshare/bus not considered reliable).
- Must be punctual and available for the full scheduled shift.
- Excessive absenteeism or tardiness will result in termination.
- Resume must include home city and commute time to job site.
- Pay rate is based on years of direct experience (overlapping roles not counted twice).
