Pre-Analytical Assistant I
Job Title: Pre-Analytical Assistant I / Lab Assistant
Location: Houston, TX
Duration: 12 months
Shift: Monday-Friday 8:00pm-4:30am rotating weekend as needed
Summary:
Supports the Technical Operations Department through routine specimen processing tasks, including sorting, racking, delivery, storage, and data entry.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform manual specimen processing tasks: sorting, racking, delivery, centrifugation, aliquoting, and storage.

Identify and escalate issues with specimens (e.g., type, labeling, or missing information).

Ensure compliance with testing and specimen handling regulations.

Maintain documentation and meet quality and productivity standards.

Adapt to changing procedures and contribute to team performance during weekends, holidays, and overtime.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED required.

Basic data entry and computer skills; familiarity with mainframe systems preferred.

Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for long periods.

Medical/lab background and experience in a production environment preferred.

Flexible schedule availability.
Work Environment:
Biohazard lab environment with adherence to safety and compliance protocols.
