Phlebotomist III - Floater
Job Title: Patient Services Representative III – Floater
Position Details:

Duration: 3 months, possibility of extension

Hours per Week: 40

Shift/Time Zone: Candidates must be available Monday–Friday, between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM, depending on business needs. A standard 40-hour workweek will be scheduled within that availability.
Job Summary:
The Patient Services Representative III – Floater (PSR III) serves as the face of the organization, representing our commitment to patient care, service excellence, and quality. This role is responsible for collecting quality blood samples, preparing specimens for laboratory testing, and maintaining a safe and professional environment. As a Floater, the PSR III provides flexible coverage at various locations, including Patient Service Centers, in-office phlebotomy sites, and other healthcare settings as needed.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform routine and specialized phlebotomy procedures, including venipuncture, capillary, pediatric, and geriatric collections.

Prepare specimens for laboratory analysis, ensuring accurate labeling and adherence to all protocols.

Verify patient demographics and obtain required signatures post-venipuncture to confirm specimen labeling.

Deliver outstanding customer service while maintaining professionalism, confidentiality, and a calming presence for patients.

Educate patients about the collection process and provide reassurance when necessary.

Maintain accurate documentation and records in compliance with company policies and regulations.

Adhere to all safety, infection control, and quality standards.

Travel to and support multiple locations, often with short notice, based on operational needs.

Collaborate with supervisors and team members to support workflow and uphold service standards.

Qualifications:
Education:
-
High school diploma or equivalent required.
-
Medical training (Medical Assistant or Paramedic) preferred.
-
Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
Experience:
-
Minimum three (3) years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric and geriatric collections.

At least two (2) years in a Patient Service Center or clinical environment preferred.

Customer service experience in a retail or healthcare setting strongly preferred.

Proficiency with data entry and basic computer skills.
