Job Description:
The HSSE Advisor role is part of the broader HSSE organization, reporting to the Catalyst Manufacturing & Supply Operations HSSE Manager. The role supports the plant in collaboration with the Site HSSE Manager and Senior HSSE Advisor to achieve outstanding HSSE performance. This includes advising on all aspects of Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) programs to ensure compliance with internal and external regulations and standards.

Job Description:
The HSSE Advisor role is part of the broader HSSE organization, reporting to the Catalyst Manufacturing & Supply Operations HSSE Manager. The role supports the plant in collaboration with the Site HSSE Manager and Senior HSSE Advisor to achieve outstanding HSSE performance. This includes advising on all aspects of Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) programs to ensure compliance with internal and external regulations and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Field Leadership & HSSE Program Development -
- Provide field leadership and advice to develop HSSE activities and programs.
- Promote a strong HSSE culture at the operational level.
- Host impactful safety meetings and toolbox talks with staff and contractors.
Site Safety Management -
- Maintain compliance with SEAM Standards.
- Manage HSSE procedures, including reviews, updates, and regulatory inclusions.
- Support Line1 audits and coordinate Line2/Line3 programs.
- Document and evaluate internal reports (e.g., Walk & Talks) and ensure statistical reporting.
- Support processes such as PTW (Permit to Work), CSE (Confined Space Entry), and Safe Isolation.
- Conduct Walk-N-Talks to ensure safe work practices.
Incident Management & Risk Assessments -
- Participate in incident investigations, share learnings, and develop preventive measures.
- Actively support the preparation of risk assessments and mitigation strategies.
Contractor Management -
- Support contractor grading, waiver reviews, and HSSE performance assessments.
- Manage site-specific contractor orientation videos, tests, and HSSE plans.
Environmental Management -
- Work with the Environmental Manager to achieve compliance with air, water, and waste regulations.
- Provide visible leadership in environmental matters and mitigate environmental risks.
- Support implementation of environmental improvement programs.
Employee Health -
- Manage the Site Fitness to Work Program, including physical and injury/illness cases.
- Serve as the focal point for worker s compensation claims and OSHA log reporting.
- Oversee the Hearing Conservation and Respiratory Protection Programs.
Security -
- Act as a backup Site Security Focal Point.
- Support tracking and reporting of security KPIs and conducting site security risk assessments.
Projects & Change Management -
- Participate in Management of Change (MOC) processes.
- Ensure integration of safety measures in all site projects and updates.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in an HSSE or production role.
- Strong learner mindset with the ability to adapt and build new skills.
- Ability to influence without direct authority and build trusted relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Knowledge of SEAM Standards, HSSE Risk Management, and applicable safety standards.
- Competency in change management and investigation processes.
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
- High level of analytical skills, self-motivation, and organizational ability.
