Job Title: Phlebotomist II
Job Location: Chicago, IL
Job Duration: 4 Months (possibility of extension)
Shift: Mon - Fri, 8:45 am - 5:30 pm (Rotating Saturday 9:00 am - 4:00 pm)
Payrate: $25/ hr. on w2
Position Summary:
The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the face of the company, interacting directly with patients as part of their healthcare routine or during significant health decisions. This role is responsible for drawing high-quality blood samples, preparing specimens for laboratory testing, and ensuring accuracy, safety, and compliance with established procedures.
The PSR II builds trust and confidence with patients by explaining procedures clearly and performing specimen collection in a skillful, safe, and accurate manner. This position emphasizes leadership behaviors, process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy of patient information.
Assignments may include work in a doctor’s office, patient service center, or other locations based on business needs.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform daily activities accurately and on schedule under the direction of the area supervisor

Maintain a safe, clean, and professional environment

Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing according to established procedures

Verify patient demographic information and obtain patient initials/signature post-venipuncture to confirm:
-
Tubes were labeled in their presence
-
The name on the label is correct
-

Maintain required records and documentation
-
Promote organizational commitment and maintain a positive image with patients, clients, employees, and the public

Demonstrate sensitivity to confidentiality and patient information accuracy
Job Requirements:

Ability to produce quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Strong phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections
-
Flexible availability, including weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call coverage
-
Ability to make decisions using established procedures and sound judgment
-
Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record (if applicable)
-
Ability to travel and cover multiple Patient Service Center/In-Office Phlebotomy locations with minimal notice
-
Capable of managing multiple priorities in a high-volume setting
-
Demonstrated customer focus

Strong communication skills with peers, supervisors, and patients

Ability to adapt to change and understand business operations

Commitment to company policies and procedures, including dress code, safety standards, and guiding principles
Education Requirements:
-
High school diploma or equivalent (required)
-
Medical assistant or paramedic training (preferred)
-
Phlebotomy certification (preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington)
Experience Requirements:
-
1–3 years of phlebotomy experience required (including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections)

2 years of experience in a Patient Service Center environment (preferred)
-
Customer service experience in retail or service environment (highly preferred)

Keyboard and data entry experience required
