Phlebotomist I
Job Title: Phlebotomist I
Location: Royal Palm Beach, FL
Job Duration: 4+ Months (Potential for Extension)
Shift Timings: Monday – Friday | 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
Position Overview:
The Phlebotomist I / Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) is a frontline healthcare professional who represents the organization to patients during routine visits or critical health screenings. This role involves collecting high-quality blood specimens, preparing them for lab testing, and ensuring a safe, professional, and compassionate environment for patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily specimen collection and processing tasks accurately and efficiently under the supervision of the area supervisor.
- Collect blood samples from patients of all age groups, including pediatric and geriatric populations.
- Ensure proper labeling, handling, and transportation of specimens.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records.
- Uphold safety and confidentiality standards in all patient interactions.
- Provide excellent customer service and foster trust with patients by explaining procedures clearly.
- Promote a positive image of the organization to patients, clients, and the public.
Qualifications:
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Required)
- Medical assistant or paramedic training (Preferred)
- Phlebotomy certification (Preferred; Required in CA, NV, WA)
Experience:
- Minimum 6 months of phlebotomy experience (Required)
- 1+ year of phlebotomy experience (Preferred)
- Customer service experience in retail or service environment (Preferred)
- Proficient in keyboarding and data entry
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to deliver error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Flexible availability, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.
- Reliable transportation is mandatory (rideshare/bus not considered reliable).
- Must reside within a 20–25 minute commute from the job site.
- Punctuality and full shift attendance are strictly enforced.
- Excessive absenteeism or tardiness may result in termination.
- Pay rate is based on years of direct experience (overlapping roles do not count twice).
