Lab Assistant - 1st shift

Job Title: Laboratory Assistant (Night Shift)

Location: Marlborough, MA
Duration: 6 months
Shift: 10:00 PM – 6:30 AM EST (8.5-hour shifts, includes two 30-minute breaks)
Pay Rate: $22.00/hr (W2)

Summary:
Support laboratory operations by performing routine tasks to ensure accurate specimen processing and efficient workflow.

Key Responsibilities:

• Receive, sort, and prepare specimens for testing
• Centrifuge samples, aliquot, label, and maintain specimen storage
• Perform basic instrument maintenance and data recording
• Prepare reagents/media and assist with slide preparation/inoculation
• Handle QA/QC tasks, resolve pending lists, and locate missing samples
• Maintain clean, safe work areas and follow PPE/safety protocols
• Dispose of biohazard materials properly
• Use laboratory computer systems and maintain records

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent (medical assistant training preferred)
• Basic math and science knowledge
• Strong multitasking, organization, and communication skills
• Ability to learn quickly and retain information
