Phlebotomist II - Float
Duration: 3+ Months
Location: Hollywood, FL, 33024
Shift: Availability between 6 am to 4 pm depending upon site to be covered.
Job Summary
The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the primary patient-facing representative of the organization. This role is responsible for performing high-quality blood collection and specimen processing in accordance with established clinical and forensic procedures. The PSR II ensures patient safety, confidentiality, and accuracy while creating a professional and trustworthy patient experience. Work assignments may include physician offices, patient service centers, or multiple locations based on business needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Perform daily work activities accurately and on schedule under the direction of the area supervisor

Collect and process clinical and forensic specimens following established policies and procedures

Perform venipuncture and capillary collections for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients

Verify patient identity, demographics, and specimen labeling

Obtain patient signature post-venipuncture to confirm specimens were labeled in the patient’s presence

Ensure specimen accuracy, integrity, and proper handling

Maintain complete and accurate records and documentation

Uphold patient confidentiality and data accuracy standards

Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment

Demonstrate leadership behaviors, process excellence, and organizational commitment

Promote a positive company image to patients, clients, coworkers, and the public
Required Skills and Competencies

Ability to produce high-quality, error-free work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment

Strong phlebotomy skills, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously

Sound judgment and decision-making within established procedures

Excellent customer service and patient communication skills

Proficiency with keyboarding and data entry systems

Ability to adapt to change and demonstrate flexibility
Schedule, Travel, and Availability

Flexible availability required, including weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call shifts

Travel required between multiple sites with minimal notice
-
Floaters must report on time to assigned locations daily

Mileage reimbursement available for eligible travel

Must be able to work full scheduled shifts and remain on site for the entire shift
Education Requirements
-
High school diploma or equivalent (required)
-
Medical assistant or paramedic training (preferred)
-
Phlebotomy certification (preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington)
Experience Requirements
-
Minimum 3 years of phlebotomy experience required, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections
-
Minimum 2 years of experience in a Patient Service Center environment (preferred)
-
Customer service experience in a retail or service environment (preferred)
-
Prior keyboarding and data entry experience required
