Receiving Forklift Operator
Job Title: Receiving Forklift Operator
Location: Jacksonville, FL
Shift/Time Zone: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Eastern Time)
Duration: 3 months +, temp to hire
Hours/Week: 40 hours
Federal Contract Work: Yes
Reach Truck Experience: Required
Position Summary:
The Receiving Forklift Operator is responsible for the efficient receiving, inspection, and routing of materials into the facility and to remote sites. This role involves operating reach trucks and other material handling equipment to move, store, and organize inventory accurately and safely. The operator also supports inventory control and outbound shipments, ensuring compliance with company policies and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, verify, and route incoming materials to proper locations (on-site and remote).
- Enter receipts into the Materials Management software system.
- Report discrepancies in shipments to the Warehouse Manager.
- Prepare and document outbound shipments.
- Manage returned goods in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Place items in designated storage areas and rotate stock based on expiration dates.
- Deliver materials to departmental staging areas.
- Note and report any short-dated materials (less than 30 days shelf life).
- Assist with inventory control tasks including cycle counts and physical inventory.
- Ensure compliance with safety, HR, and regulatory requirements (OSHA, CLIA, etc.).
- Suggest process improvements to the Warehouse Manager.
- Support picking, packing, and delivery of internal and external orders.
- Assist with mail distribution and record storage/retrieval as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Experience:
- Minimum 6 months of materials handling or warehouse experience
- Must have reach truck experience
- Data entry experience preferred
Skills and Competencies:
- Proficient in operating forklifts, reach trucks, and pallet jacks
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Attention to detail and reliable record-keeping
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
- Team-oriented with the ability to work independently
- Familiarity with barcode scanners and warehouse inventory systems
