Job Description:
The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) represents the face of the organization to patients—whether part of their routine health care or during significant diagnostic decisions. This role is responsible for drawing quality blood samples and preparing specimens for laboratory testing while following established procedures and ensuring patient comfort and safety.
The PSR II fosters an atmosphere of trust, explains procedures clearly, and performs venipuncture skillfully and accurately. The role also requires a focus on leadership behaviors, process excellence, and strict confidentiality of patient information.
Successful candidates may be assigned to a doctor’s office, patient service center, or other clinical location as business needs dictate.

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily phlebotomy and specimen collection activities accurately and on time under supervisor direction.
- Maintain a safe, professional, and organized work environment.
- Perform both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing according to established protocols.
- Verify patient demographics and obtain patient signatures post-venipuncture to confirm accuracy of specimen labeling.
- Maintain required logs, records, and documentation.
- Exhibit strong organizational commitment and professionalism while promoting a positive company image.
Job Requirements:
- Ability to produce accurate, high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric draws.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.
- Adherence to company Policies & Procedures, including dress code, safety standards, and guiding principles.
- Sound judgment and decision-making within established procedures.
- Must have reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record, if applicable.
- Ability to work at multiple locations on short notice.
- Strong multitasking and customer service skills.
- Effective communication with peers, supervisors, and patients; ability to adapt to change quickly.
Education Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent – Required
- Medical training (Medical Assistant or Paramedic) – Preferred
- Phlebotomy Certification – Preferred; Required in CA, NV, and WA
Work Experience:
- 1–3 years of phlebotomy experience required, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
- 2 years in a Patient Service Center (PSC) environment – Preferred
- Customer service experience in retail or service environment – Highly preferred
- Keyboard/data entry proficiency required.
