- Strong data entry accuracy and speed to enable effective asset management.
- Basic Excel skill such as sorting, vlookups, data cleanup and simple formulas.
- Good verbal and written communication for working with site contacts and report issues. Must be comfortable working both independently and in a team environment.
- Lastly, a self-starter with minimal supervision
Job Summary:
- Client is seeking a detail-oriented and organized R&D Asset Support contractor to assist with a short-term project focused on asset data entry and tagging within our Glenview, IL facility.
- This role will support the R&D team by ensuring accurate documentation and labeling of equipment using our internal asset management system, Hexagon.
- This project is part of a broader company initiative to organize and assign assets across multiple R&D sites in preparation for a corporate restructuring. The selected contractor will work closely with internal team members and receive training and support throughout the assignment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manually enter equipment and asset information into the Hexagon software system (including ID, description, function, and location).
- Generate and print barcode tags based on the entered data.
- Physically apply barcode tags to corresponding equipment:
- Paper tags for lab assets
- Stainless steel tags for pilot plant assets
- Collaborate with internal team members to locate, identify, and verify assets.
- Ensure data accuracy and consistency across systems and spreadsheets.
- Communicate with staff across multiple R&D sites (mainly Glenview and satellite locations).
Qualifications:
- High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
- Basic computer proficiency; Excel experience is required.
- Experience with asset management systems (Hexagon preferred but not required).
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
- Comfortable working in a lab or technical environment and handling physical equipment.
- Ability to manage time effectively and adapt to a fast-paced, evolving project.
- Work Environment:
- May require walking, standing, and light lifting while tagging equipment.
- Estimated workload includes tagging approximately 5,000 assets.
