Job Summary
Under minimal supervision, designs, codes or configures, tests, debugs, deploys, documents, and maintains programs using a variety of software development toolkits, programming languages, testing/verification applications, and other tools, while adhering to development best practices and quality standards.
Gathers business requirements, translates them into detailed technical specifications from which programs will be written or configured, and validates that the proposed applications align with both architectural design and business needs.
Participates in process leadership for work groups, and product/service delivery strategy and work plans. Responsibilities may also include deep troubleshooting, issue analysis, coding, testing, implementing software enhancements, and applying patches.
Competent to work on most phases of applications systems analysis and programming activities, though may require guidance in some areas. Provides coaching to less experienced Application Development Analysts.
Essential Functions

Work independently with customers to analyze and compile business requirements for applications.

Research, plan, design, develop, and implement customer-focused programming solutions that adhere to development policies/standards and align with architectural design and business needs.

Code, test, and implement software enhancements and/or apply patches.

Prepare appropriate documentation to support new systems or modifications to existing application programs.

Drive risk assessment by developing, implementing, and evaluating system design strategies, specifications, and models.

Provide process leadership for work groups and assist in product/service delivery strategies and work plans.

Own the resolution for product, implementation, and functionality issues, providing troubleshooting support.

Expand skills by learning from experienced peers and share knowledge by coaching less seasoned Application Development Analysts.
Qualifications

Required: Associate’s Degree or equivalent in related field

Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in related field

Experience: 2+ years of relevant experience in application development and support, including system development lifecycle, coding, testing, and implementation
