Description:
The Logistics Coordinator operates within a team to coordinate, process and manage all domestic logistics related outgoing business flows for Client NA production sites in Germantown, Waukesha, Watsontown, South Bend, Turlock, toller facilities and external 3rd party warehouses. The position may receive direction on the daily tactical processes from the Senior Logistics Analyst.
Focus is on ensuring reliable, effective distribution of customer orders with the use of numerous carrier partners and coordination across multiple Client and external 3rd party sites. Ensures the reliable, effective and timely delivery of finished goods to Client customers.
Key performance measurements are around Supply Chain Delivery Reliability, specifically, Transportation Reliability (TR), transportation shipment costs, and timeliness of Supplier Corrective Action Request completion related to customer complaints.
The Logistics Coordinator is owner of the logistics part of the order fulfillment process, in order to realize timely and correct product delivery.
General Logistics Process:
To coordinate logistics operations in general:
o Daily operational activity (including, but not limited to)
Delivery creation and management
Shipment processing in SAP
Alignment with warehouse on order picking/packaging and fulfillment
Generation of shipping/customer documentation as per order requirements
Coordination t of Carriers
Shipment tracking and expediting as required including pro-active communication towards the Commercial Assistant on deviations to promised delivery dates
o Issue management with external carriers/internal departments/3rd party warehouses
o Ensure alignment / adherence to Standard Operational Procedures
o Implement process changes for optimization if required.
o Develop functional expertise in specific logistics focus areas (e.g. claims, incoterms, export documents)
o Monitor compliance with legal and other functional operational requirements
o Act as backup to other team members when those members are out of the office for extended period of time (PTO, medical leave).
Safety:
Promote a safe and healthy work environment by embracing Life Saving Rules (LSR) or other safety methodologies employed.
Fulfill Transport Safety Coordinator (TSC) when assigned (on rotating basis).
Procedures:
Review and implement key Standard Operating Procedures (SOP s) for new processes or for updating existing documented processes.
Improve:
Continuously improve the processes on assigned regional logistics operations, with alignment on regional supply chain strategy, in order to support business developments in NA and to meet company targets.
Distribution:
Manage the transportation and documentation of stocks moving throughout the Client distribution network including delivery notes, transfer orders and shipments.
Implement operational carrier agreements and act as first operational escalation point for Logistics Service Providers and internal departments with regards to service issues
Warehouse Management:
Manage the cycle count process for external warehouses. Aligning 3rd party warehouse management systems with SAP
Escalate cycle count issues to Regional Key User for resolution.
Complaint and Claims Handling:
Lead or assist in investigations related to complaint and claim handling for applicable shipments. Follow through to successful closure.
Customer Concentricity:
Proactively communicating to Customer Service, Planning and Logistics Team of issues and delays which may impact production and/or customer orders.
Review of Customer requests for 3PL and 4PL use at our 3rd party warehouses for feasibility, costs, and ease of implementation. Report back findings to Logistics Manager for final decision.
Key Performance Indicators:
Provide coding and requested analysis of Transport Reliability (TR) KPIs to improve performance of the overall SCDR%.
Provide relevant input to the Logistics Team Lead for the definition and implementation of the logistic strategies and KPI s in order to meet with the operational needs and developments
Shipment Costing:
Manage invoice exception listing, or errors in carrier bills as processed through 3rd party freight/warehouse invoice auditor/payor.
Sustainability:
Research and present to team (including Management and other regions of Client), sustainability topics/projects related to Logistical processes, both from external or internal parties.
Projects/Special assignments:
Participates in Logistics Process Improvements
Implementation of key changes that deliver supply chain improvements
Implementation of new logistics service providers
Projects related to driving enhancements in the Operations organization

Contribute to implementation of the BG/BU strategy and plan, in co-operation with the Logistics Team Lead and Regional Logistics Manager, within the BG/BU Strategies and corporate requirements and guidelines.
Responsible for all SHEQ aspects, related to the execution of the SC processes (with respect to both internal and external quality requirements)
As a member of the Client NA SC Team develop, implement and manage a cost effective and efficient Logistics organization, standard working processes and systems, in order to enable optimal business performance and meet corporate and legal requirements
Carrier and warehouse relationship management (no contract responsibility)
Carrier payment management via 3rd party
Shipment costing where required
Cycle counting accuracy with 3rd party warehouses.
