Job Description: Position Overview
We are looking for a dynamic and proactive Operations Team Leader to supervise our repacking department! This position is based at the Ward Hill site, which is in Haverhill, MA and a part of the Laboratory Chemicals Division. This role involves supervising safe operations, ensuring quality compliance, and managing production schedules. The ideal candidate will possess proven Lean and Continuous Improvement skills, a successful history of implementing operational improvements, and experience supervising a team.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership:
Supervise the daily function of the chemical repacking department, ensure timely completion of production plans to meet customer requirements and business targets.
Drive performance metrics in safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.
Collaborate with planning, warehouse, and quality teams to eliminate obstacles and address critical issues promptly.

Safety & Compliance:
Ensure full compliance with EHS (Environmental, Health & Safety) policies and procedures.
Perform daily checks, identify risks, and foster a culture that prioritizes colleague safety.
Conduct incident investigations and corrective actions.

Quality & Investigations:
Collaborate with Quality departments to handle quality investigations and root cause analysis for any non-conformances in the repack process.
Ensure adherence to SOPs and regulatory requirements.
Drive corrective and preventive actions to eliminate recurring issues.

Employee Management:
Lead and support the Repack team, establish transparent expectations, objectives, and performance benchmarks.
Cultivate a culture centered on accountability, teamwork, and constant advancement.
Support talent development through cross-training, mentoring, and skill-building initiatives.

Continuous Improvement & Change Leadership:
Apply Lean methodologies (5S, Standard Work, Visual Management, Kaizen, etc.) to streamline repack operations and reduce waste.
Lead problem-solving workshops and empower the team to implement improvements.
Function as a change instigator, question the prevailing standards and encourage the implementation of standard methodologies.

Qualifications & Experience:
3 - 5 years of dynamic experience in manufacturing, operations, or supply chain.
Strong communication and people leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and engage teams. Prior employee management experience strongly preferred.
Proven experience in Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement (Green Belt certification preferred).
Demonstrated ability to ensure safety, maintain quality standards, and lead production processes.
Strong problem-solving skills, proficiency in pinpointing core issues, and effective decision-making capabilities.
Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, and move around for long periods.
Manual dexterity to handle small parts and tools.
Ability to work in a warehouse environment under various temperatures, including cold room and/or freezer room.
Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment required): safety glasses, lab coat, safety shoes, safety sleeves, and gloves.
Ability to lift/push/pull up to 40 pounds on a regular basis. Occasionally required to lift heavier weights with assistance.
Ability to handle hazardous chemicals in a safe manner.
Ability to stand for up to 8 hours, kneel, crouch, and walk.

Work Environment:
The work is performed in a manufacturing or warehouse setting.
Exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures and smells.
Comments for Suppliers: Flexible rate based on experience ***-40 per hour
