Job Title: Patient Services Representative I (PSR I)

Job Summary:
The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the first point of contact for patients, creating a welcoming and professional environment. This role involves drawing quality blood samples, preparing specimens for laboratory testing, and providing patients with clear, compassionate explanations of procedures. The PSR I ensures accuracy, safety, and confidentiality while representing the organization with integrity and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform daily activities accurately and in a timely manner under the direction of the area supervisor.

• Maintain a safe, clean, and professional environment for patients and staff.

• Confidently perform both clinical and forensic specimen collection and processing following established procedures.

• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to patient specimens and interactions.

• Provide excellent patient care by creating an atmosphere of trust and comfort while explaining procedures.

• Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.

• Exhibit leadership behaviors by focusing on process excellence, patient confidentiality, and accuracy of information.

Job Requirements:

• Ability to deliver high-quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.

• Proficient phlebotomy skills, including experience with pediatric and geriatric patients.

• Flexibility to work varied schedules, including weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, and overtime as needed.

Education & Certification:

• High school diploma or equivalent REQUIRED.

• Medical training such as medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.

• Phlebotomy certification preferred (Required in California, Nevada, and Washington).

Experience:

• Minimum of 6 months of experience in phlebotomy REQUIRED; 1+ years preferred.

• Customer service experience in retail or healthcare settings preferred.

• Keyboarding and data entry experience required.
