Job Summary- Packaging Planner
This position is responsible for assisting the Supply Chain with demand and production planning reports and tools. This position serves as the key liaison between the Product line, Scheduling, and the Packaging area. The incumbent s coordination activities include Capacity Planning, leading monthly Planning runs with the new demand signal, working with Product line management to ensure supply is produced in time to meet the safety stock requirements. Plan and implement packaging and/or product changes consistent with Marketing objectives, while minimizing inventory obsolescence. Key contacts will include but not limited to Packaging, Finance, Material Planners and Scheduling. The person will be a key user for SAP/ERP/other planning tools (SCPtool) , Project Management, Purchasing, SWR Warehouse, Taylor Distribution and others as needed.
The incumbent leads the process of determining and tracking the capacity and workload for the Packaging resources in SWR. Provide forward visibility to the Packaging Management for resource planning and headcount purposes. Assist with data collection, analysis and recommendations for efficiency and cost savings throughout the Supply Chain. Inventory management will also be a key responsibility to recognize and react to inventory levels below or above our targets and make recommendations on how to meet the target. This position also includes preparing the annual budget and periodic updates of pkg hours, tracking on a monthly basis, and presenting the information in various forums, including the Site Supply Review, Budget and Strat Plan for Finance and others. A key accountability will be to perform the monthly planning run which is a full week process and to be success you must coordinate and work closely with the Filling Planner.
The job includes coordination with other Client sites, particularly Toronto, Marcy and Val de Reuil on a routine basis.
As a member of the Operations Planning team, the incumbent is a stakeholder and a contributor to the planning process, by participating in and supporting the Operations Planning activities related to the planning run and supporting other areas not directly related to packaging such as supporting the Toronto site for confirmatory testing of products shipped to or from Canada.
Role Specific Responsibilities
Perform the planning run on a monthly basis and as part of the planning run assess capacity and inventory levels. Prepare Budget, Strat plan, Financial Updates (T s) for Packaging and report out as needed on the Finance Template as per published schedule. Includes meetings with project teams to ensure alignment with capacity and line time commitments. Run supply scenarios and report out as needed the impact and risks. Undertake special projects as requested
