Job Description
  • We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Associate Scientist to join the BioDesign team.
  • This role will contribute to the design, optimization, and development of therapeutic proteins aimed at improving the lives of patients with immunological, neurodegenerative, and muscular diseases.
  • This role is hands-on and lab-focused, contributing directly to antibody and protein production workflows.

What You’ll Do
  • Produce antibodies and other recombinant proteins using transient expression and stable cell pool approaches
  • Prepare plasmid DNA
  • Perform plate-based characterization assays (e.g., ELISA, MSD) to assess expression and binding
  • Prepare and analyze samples for flow cytometry–based binding or expression assessments
  • Document experiments, results, and protocols in accordance with internal standards

Qualifications
Required Skills
  • Antibody/protein expression in CHO cells using shake flasks
  • Strong mammalian cell culture technique
  • Experience with plate-based protein characterization assays
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to documentation and record-keeping
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with cell engineering and stable cell line generation
  • Flow cytometry sample preparation and data analysis
  • Molecular biology experience
  • Immunoassays experience (MSD, ELISA)
  • Antibody purification experience

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
  • Master of Science (MS) degree with 0–2 years relevant experience
