Position Summary:
Seeking an experienced and motivated Network Engineer to join our Global Network Services team at our World Headquarters in Beaverton, OR. This role is pivotal in designing, implementing, supporting, and optimizing global network infrastructure, with a primary focus on Cisco routing (EIGRP, BGP) and switching technologies, alongside Palo Alto Networks firewalls. The successful candidate will ensure robust, secure, and high-performing connectivity for our critical Distribution Centers, Large Corporate Offices, and Manufacturing sites across the globe. This role requires hands-on expertise with industry-leading tools such as ServiceNow, SolarWinds, Cisco DNA Center, Panorama, and JIRA.
 
Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
  • Network Infrastructure Management: Design, implement, configure, and maintain complex Cisco-based network infrastructure (routers, switches) across global enterprise environments including Distribution Centers, Large Offices, and Manufacturing sites. Primarily focused on EIGRP and BGP routing protocols.
  • Firewall Administration: Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Palo Alto Networks firewalls, including policy creation and optimization, threat prevention, VPN configuration (IPSec, GlobalProtect), and ensuring adherence to security best practices.
  • Operational Support & Troubleshooting: Provide Tier 2/3 advanced technical support for network incidents and problems. Diagnose and resolve complex network issues related to routing (EIGRP, BGP), switching, and firewall performance in a timely manner.
  • Monitoring & Performance Optimization: Proactively monitor network health and performance using tools like SolarWinds. Analyze trends, identify potential bottlenecks, and implement solutions to optimize network efficiency and reliability.
  • Network Automation & Management: Utilize Cisco DNA Center for network automation, assurance, and provisioning. Leverage Panorama for centralized management and configuration of Palo Alto Networks firewalls.
  • Project Tracking & Management: Utilize JIRA for tracking project progress, managing tasks, and reporting on network-related initiatives and deployments.
  • ITSM Practices: Employ ServiceNow for incident management, problem management, change management, and maintaining an accurate CMDB for network assets.
  • Documentation & Standards: Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including diagrams, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and knowledge base articles.
  • Project Participation: Collaborate on global and regional network projects, including new site deployments, technology upgrades, and security enhancements.
  • Security Compliance: Ensure network infrastructure and firewall configurations comply with security policies, industry best practices, and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Vendor & Stakeholder Collaboration: Liaise with telecom providers, hardware/software vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure effective service delivery and issue resolution.
  • On-Call Support: Participate in an on-call rotation to provide after-hours support for critical network issues.
 
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6+ years of hands-on experience in network engineering, with a strong focus on Cisco enterprise networking, specifically EIGRP and BGP routing protocols, and advanced switching technologies (e.g., VLANs, STP).
  • Some experience in deploying, managing, and troubleshooting Palo Alto Networks firewalls (e.g., PA-Series) and associated security features (Threat Prevention, WildFire, URL Filtering).
  • Hands-on experience with network management and monitoring tools such as SolarWinds.
  • Experience with IT Service Management (ITSM) platforms, specifically ServiceNow.
  • Experience with project tracking tools, particularly JIRA.
  • Working knowledge of Cisco DNA Center for network automation and assurance.
  • Proficiency with Palo Alto Networks Panorama for centralized firewall management.
  • Strong understanding of network security principles, VPN technologies, and network segmentation.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a global team environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Relevant industry certifications such as CCNP (Enterprise/Security) or PCNSE (Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer).
  • Experience supporting network infrastructure in large-scale Distribution Center or Manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of WAN technologies and solutions.
  • Scripting skills (e.g., Python, Ansible) for network automation.
  • Familiarity with ITIL frameworks.
