Location: Princeton
Shift - 830am-430pm - may need adjustment due to business needs.
Education: Required: High School Diploma or GED; Preferred: College degree in Science, Chemistry, and/or Engineering.
Interview Process:
MS Teams video interviews with manager and current Compounder in the role. 2nd round would be with Director and Perfumer's current technician.
Previous experience in a perfumery or FMCG company strongly preferred.
MUST be very computer/system savvy - MS Office Suite knowledge and experience required.
Not a manufacturing/compounding role, this is small scale laboratory compounding at the creative level.
No respirator mask needed.
6 month contract to start, will be evaluated after that for possible extension.
Standard business hours, 40 hours per week
Compounding Technician, P&B
Main Tasks:
Small scale Perfumery and Beauty Compounding supporting both local and global formulae
Prepare fragrance compounds by precisely weighing accurate formulae ingredients using automated system.
Ensuring all ingredients are quality and within expiration date.
Perform other lab and project tasks as directed by the Lab Supervisors
Maintain an organized collection of Raw Materials
Be able to help with overflow work when volumes increase.
Maintain a clean and well-organized laboratory workspace.
Identify inefficiencies and propose viable solutions following Lean Management principles and guidelines.
Assure compliance of SHE procedures and proactively contribute to the improvement of lab safety.
Wear appropriate PPE (gloves, goggles, lab coat, closed toed shoes), follow safety protocols and avoid contamination risk.
Independent and efficient use of all internal tools for data collection/recording and administration.
Maintain awareness of technology and issues affecting own job.
Contribute to team success Actively participates as a member of a team to move the team toward the completion of goals.
Key Interactions:
Lab Manager, Technicians, Perfumers, Fragrance Development Managers, Project Managers and Application labs including awareness of other projects within lab.
Previous Experience:
1-5 years in a laboratory/compounding environment.
Previous experience in a perfumery or FMCG company strongly preferred.
Competencies:
Must be able to stand for long periods of time
Ability to lift 20lbs
Flexibility to work overtime (where needed)
Detail & Service orientated to meet deadlines
Ability to pivot priorities as needed
Continuous improvement and adaptation to changes
Encourage and support a positive work environment
Strong communication skills
