Phlebotomist II
Job Title: Phlebotomist II
Location: Hartford, CT 06106
Duration: 3 months+ with the possibility of an extension
Shift: Monday - Friday 5:30 am - 10:30 am EST
Pay range: $17.50 - $23/hr. on W2
Job Summary:
The Phlebotomist II serves as the first point of contact for patients at the Patient Service Center. This role requires exceptional customer service skills to assist patients with checking in, scheduling appointments, and ensuring a smooth workflow.
Responsibilities:
- Under the direction of the area supervisor, perform daily tasks accurately and on time.
- Maintain a safe and professional environment.
- Perform both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties with confidence, following established practices and procedures.
- Maintain required records and documentation accurately.
- Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
- Provide a high level of customer service to patients, ensuring their comfort and understanding of the process.
- Ensure all blood samples are collected in a safe, accurate, and efficient manner.
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Three years of phlebotomy experience required, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric and capillary collections.
- Minimum 2 years in Patient Service Center environment preferred.
- Customer service experience in a healthcare or retail setting.
Additional Job Details:
- Reliable transportation is mandatory (bus, Uber, or rideshare is not acceptable).
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Flexibility for weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, and overtime as needed.
- Must demonstrate punctuality and consistent attendance.
- Candidates must reside within a 20–25-minute commute of the worksite to ensure reliable and timely travel.
- Consistent and reliable attendance is essential for success in this role.
