Title - Virtual Medical Assistant
Location - Houston TX 77030
Duration - 3 months
Shift - 8:30am 5:30pm


Description -
To provide patient care and excellent customer service as the first contact for patients, providers, and staff accessing virtual and/or non-virtual ambulatory clinics. May orient the patient to the virtual visit process to ensure patient success, if applicable. Virtually rooms patients and families to begin a telemedicine visit. Will expedite outpatient check-in and check- out processes by reviewing appointment status using electronic appointment system to view information regarding appointment and history. Will provide technical assistance to patient and family members through the patient portal and video platform. Will assist in the coordination of flow and provider schedules to effectively manage patient care across a variety of clinics and specialties.

Duties -

Welcomes and interacts with all patients, families, and visitors in a professional, timely, age appropriate, and culturally sensitive manner.
Coordinates communications including phone calls, pages, faxes, etc. in a friendly, professional, and timely manner.
Responds to customer questions with prompt information and/or service related to appointment status, wait time, or unanticipated problems.
Communicates with patient, staff, and providers regarding patient arrivals, delays, and clinic processes.
Proactively approaches dissatisfied customers and implements customer service recovery measures.
Identifies prolonged wait times for patients in waiting room and reports to clinic manager.
Obtains translation services as needed for customers.
Attends staff meetings or signs attendance records for reading of minutes and attends mandatory training and development activities by established guidelines as evidenced by supervisory observation and written/verbal feedback.
Notifies licensed staff or supervisor when unable to complete assigned tasks or responsibilities.

Required -
  • H.S Diploma
  • Cert Medical Assistant/Clinical Medical Assistant Certification
  • 2 years related experience
  • Comfort w/ Technology use Fast paced Virtual Video Care

Skills -
  • Knowledge of nursing/medical assistant patient care tasks, the managed care industry, appointment scheduling, related medical terminology and customer service concepts.
  • The ability to operate proficiently a personal computer and basic clinic/patient care, office equipment; demonstrate interpersonal skills; demonstrate good verbal communication skills; demonstrate good time management skills and provide excellent customer service skills. The ability to demonstrate quick decision making and self-initiated work behaviors is necessary. Bilingual in Spanish/English preferred.
