Respiratory Therapist

Shift: 6:30am - 7:00pm and 6:30pm - 7:00am (3×12s)

Job Summary:

• Under the general supervision of the Respiratory Therapy Supervisor, the Respiratory Therapist delivers life-support, resuscitation, monitoring, and various medical gas therapies to patients.
• Responsibilities include performing invasive and non-invasive diagnostic procedures for patients in both Intensive Care and General Practice Units.
• The therapist maintains clinical expertise for departmental assignments across various business units, communicates effectively with all members of the care team, and documents all aspects of patient care accurately.
• Additional duties include supervising, directing, and delegating tasks to Respiratory Therapists, orientees, externs, and students, as assigned.
• Ensures completion of necessary and accurate patient billing information.

Education Required:

• Associate of Science Degree from an accredited Respiratory Therapist program

Education Preferred:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy.

Required Certification & Licensure

• Registration with the National Board of Respiratory Care.
• Current Michigan Respiratory Therapist License.
• BLS Certification.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Minimum of two years of recent Respiratory Therapist experience.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Interview: In-person or phone (30 minutes).

City: Detroit

• Weekends/Holidays: Every other weekend and holiday
• Orientation: 3 days / 36 hours
• Unit Assignment: Adult ICU or Neonatal ICU (one unit only)
• Facility Size: 500 patients
