S4 SOLUTION ARCHITECT - Senior IT SAP Consultant
Location:
Candidates within 23 hours of Charlotte, NC or Client, NY preferred. Open to remote candidates across the U.S. (EST time zone preferred). Must be willing to support EST hours.
Schedule:
Full-time (MondayFriday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM EST). Some flexibility required to support global teams.
Position Overview
Client is seeking a highly skilled SAP Solution Architect with strong FICO expertise to lead enterprise solution design and support ERP transformation initiatives. This role bridges business and IT by delivering scalable, compliant, and future-ready SAP solutions aligned with enterprise architecture and long-term strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, IT teams, and external partners
- Lead and participate in solution design sessions for complex business challenges
- Provide architectural guidance across the project lifecycle (design, build, test, deploy)
- Translate business requirements into end-to-end SAP solutions
- Define and maintain ERP architecture standards and roadmaps
- Support large-scale SAP and S/4HANA transformation initiatives
- Drive standardization, reusable solutions, and best practices
- Troubleshoot and resolve system and process issues
- Manage changes and support high-priority production issues
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of SAP/ERP experience, including at least 3 full-cycle S/4HANA implementations
- Strong hands-on experience with SAP FICO and core finance processes
- Solid understanding of S/4HANA architecture and FI/CO integration
- Experience with SAP integrations across modules and external systems
- Proven expertise in solution design, blueprinting, and architecture governance
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience in the manufacturing industry
Preferred Qualifications
- SAP certifications (FICO and/or S/4HANA)
- Experience in ECC to S/4HANA transformation programs
- Exposure to SAP BTP, analytics, or cloud-based solutions
- Experience leveraging AI tools for solution design

SAP FICO Functional Expertise
- Product Costing & Material Ledger (standard/actual costing, cost rollups, variance analysis)
- Investment Management (CapEx planning, budgeting, integration with CO and FI-AA)
- S/4HANA Finance architecture (Universal Journal ACDOCA, real-time FI/CO integration)
- Core FI processes: AP, AR, Business Partner, payments (APP), credit management, dunning, cash application
- Asset Accounting: AuC, capitalization, depreciation, lifecycle management
- Controlling (CO): Cost Center, Profit Center, Internal Orders, allocations, WIP, settlements
- Period-end close & compliance: parallel ledgers, document splitting, reporting, tax integration
- Cross-module integration with MM, SD, PP, PS, and external systems
