The Phlebotomist I serves as the first point of contact for patients at the Patient Service Center. This role requires exceptional customer service skills to assist patients with checking in, scheduling appointments, and ensuring a smooth workflow. The Phlebotomist I will also draw blood, handle both forensic and clinical specimens, and maintain a safe and professional environment while supporting the overall efficiency of the Patient Care Center.

Job Description:
The Phlebotomist I serves as the first point of contact for patients at the Patient Service Center. The Phlebotomist I will also draw blood, handle both forensic and clinical specimens, and maintain a safe and professional environment while supporting the overall efficiency of the Patient Care Center.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform daily activities at the Patient Care Center with accuracy and timeliness.
- Draw quality blood samples from patients, including pediatric and geriatric, for both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing.
- Perform verification of patient demographic information and initials, including post-venipuncture signature verification to ensure tubes are labeled correctly.
- Prepare specimens for lab testing and maintain required documentation and records.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and professional environment at all times.
- Deliver high-standard customer service and professionalism to patients, clients, and team members.
- Promote a positive image of the company and demonstrate strong organizational commitment.
- Perform daily tasks accurately under the supervision of the area supervisor.
- Collect specimens confidently and skillfully following established procedures.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
Skills:
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
- Keyboard/data entry proficiency.
- Leadership and process excellence skills.
- Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
Other Desired Qualifications:
- Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
- 6 months of phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Customer service experience in retail or service environments preferred.
