Pay Rate: $23/hour on W2

Job Summary:
- Responsible for general support functions within the Specimen Processing Department.
- Handles specimen processing tasks including data entry, centrifugation, aliquoting, imaging/microfilming, and specimen transport within the laboratory.
- Performs all duties accurately, confidently, and in a timely manner.
- Supports compliance with specimen handling and testing regulations that may change daily.
- Critical to quality and customer satisfaction.
- Flexibility required for staffing changes, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform specimen processing functions (A-station, presort, pickup/delivery to laboratory, centrifugation, aliquoting, imaging/microfilming).
- Enter data accurately (target: 6,000 alphanumeric keystrokes/hour).
- Understand specimen types and tests ordered by clients.
- Adhere to biohazard safety protocols.
- Sit or stand for extended periods as required.
- Adapt to daily workflow changes and customer demands.
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Required Knowledge & Skills:
- Basic understanding of computers
- Preferred: knowledge of laboratory testing and specimen processing
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with accuracy
Experience:
- No experience required
- Preferred: previous laboratory experience, medical background, knowledge of medical terminology, hospital lab experience, or production environment experience
