Job Title: Phlebotomist I
Location: Jacksonville, FL
Duration: 4+ Months (Possibility of Extension)
Shift Timings:
- Monday–Friday: 6:30 AM – 3:30 PM
- Mandatory Saturday Rotation: 7:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Position Overview
The Phlebotomist I / Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the frontline representative of the organization, supporting patients seeking routine health services or critical diagnostic testing. This role is responsible for collecting highquality blood specimens, preparing samples for laboratory analysis, and ensuring compliance with all established procedures and safety standards. The PSR I provides exceptional patient care by fostering an atmosphere of trust, professionalism, and comfort.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily operational tasks accurately, efficiently, and according to supervisor direction.
- Collect quality blood specimens from patients of varying ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations.
- Process and prepare forensic and clinical specimens in accordance with established guidelines.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment at all times.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills while explaining procedures to patients in a clear and supportive manner.
- Accurately document all required information, logs, and reports.
- Exhibit organizational commitment through professionalism and positive representation with patients, clients, and coworkers.
- Ensure confidentiality and precision in handling patient information.
Job Requirements
- Ability to produce accurate, errorfree work in a fastpaced environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
- Strong phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric experience.
- Flexibility required, including availability for weekends, holidays, overtime, and oncall situations as needed.
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable attendance is essential.
Education Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent — REQUIRED
- Medical training (Medical Assistant, Paramedic, etc.) — Preferred
- Phlebotomy certification — Preferred
- Required in California, Nevada, and Washington
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 6 months direct, handson phlebotomy experience — REQUIRED
- 1+ year of phlebotomy experience — Preferred
- Customer service or serviceindustry background — Preferred
- Strong keyboarding and data entry abilities — Required
Additional Job Details
- Candidates must list home city and commute time on their resume.
- Must live within 20–25 minutes of the worksite to ensure consistent coverage and punctuality.
- Pay rate is based strictly on direct, verifiable phlebotomy experience (no doublecounting overlapping roles).
- Refer to the Southeast rate card breakdown (Broadleaf) for rate clarification.
- Must have reliable personal transportation—public transit, rideshare, or drop-offs are not considered reliable.
- Must be able to work all scheduled hours, arrive on time, and complete full shifts consistently.
- Excessive absenteeism or tardiness may result in termination.
