Phlebotomist II

Patient Services Representative II (PSR II)
The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the primary point of contact for patients and delivers high-quality phlebotomy services in clinical and patient service center environments. This role is responsible for accurate specimen collection, patient education, data integrity, and adherence to compliance standards while demonstrating leadership behaviors and customer-focused service.
Key Responsibilities

Perform venipuncture, capillary, pediatric, geriatric, and forensic specimen collections following established clinical protocols.

Prepare, label, and process specimens accurately for laboratory testing.

Verify patient identification, demographic information, and obtain patient signature post-collection to confirm proper labeling.

Ensure all specimens are labeled in the patient’s presence to maintain compliance and accuracy.

Maintain accurate records, documentation, and data entry in laboratory systems.

Explain procedures clearly to patients to build trust, reduce anxiety, and ensure informed participation.

Maintain a safe, clean, and professional environment in accordance with health and safety policies.

Demonstrate leadership behaviors and uphold organizational values.

Support multiple work locations including patient service centers, physician offices, and in-office phlebotomy sites as business needs require.

Perform daily activities accurately, efficiently, and within established timeframes under area supervisor direction.

Job Requirements

Ability to deliver error-free work in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, overtime, and multi-location coverage.

Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record (if applicable).

Education & Certification
-
High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
-
Medical Assistant or Paramedic training (Preferred)
-
Phlebotomy certification (Preferred; required in CA, NV, and WA)
Experience
-
1–3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections (Required)

2+ years in a Patient Service Center environment (Preferred)

Customer service experience in retail or healthcare settings (Preferred)

Keyboard proficiency and data entry experience
