Job Description: Phlebotomist II – Float

Location: Weston, FL
Duration: 3+ Months (Potential Extension)
Shift Timings:

  • Monday–Friday: 5:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • Saturday: 6:30 AM – 1:00 PM



Position Summary

The Phlebotomist II – Float (Patient Services Representative II) serves as the frontline representative of the organization, interacting directly with patients who visit for routine testing or critical health insights. This role is responsible for collecting high-quality blood specimens, ensuring accurate labeling and processing, and delivering an exceptional patient experience.

As a float role, this position requires travel between multiple locations based on business needs and staffing demands.




Key Responsibilities

  • Perform venipuncture and capillary collections accurately and efficiently, including pediatric and geriatric patients.
  • Prepare and process specimens following established clinical and forensic procedures.
  • Verify patient demographics and obtain required confirmations/signatures post-collection.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with company policies.
  • Ensure proper labeling of specimens in the presence of patients.
  • Create a safe, clean, and professional work environment.
  • Communicate procedures clearly to patients to build trust and confidence.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational commitment and represent the company positively.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining quality standards.
  • Travel to various patient service centers, physician offices, or assigned locations as required.



Additional Duties

  • Support both clinical and forensic specimen collection as needed
  • Adapt to changing schedules, locations, and workloads
  • Follow all company policies, including safety and confidentiality guidelines
  • Participate in training sessions at designated locations



Job Requirements

  • Ability to produce accurate, error-free work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Strong decision-making skills using established procedures and sound judgment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, overtime, or on-call shifts
  • Willingness to travel between multiple sites with minimal notice
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record required



Qualifications



Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
  • Medical Assistant or Paramedic training (Preferred)
  • Phlebotomy Certification (Preferred; required in CA, NV, WA)


Experience

  • 1–3 years of phlebotomy experience (Required)
  • Experience with pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections (Required)
  • 2+ years in a Patient Service Center (Preferred)
  • Strong customer service experience, preferably in retail or service settings
  • Data entry and basic computer/keyboard skills
