Job Summary:
The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the primary point of contact for patients, representing the organization with professionalism, compassion, and accuracy. This role is responsible for performing high-quality blood specimen collection and processing while creating a safe, welcoming environment for patients. The PSR I builds patient trust by clearly explaining procedures and ensuring specimens are collected skillfully, safely, and in compliance with established protocols. A strong focus on confidentiality, accuracy, and process excellence is essential.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Perform daily work activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor
• Draw blood specimens from patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations
• Perform both clinical and forensic specimen collection and processing in accordance with established policies and procedures
• Prepare, label, and process specimens for laboratory testing
• Maintain accurate records, documentation, and patient information
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and maintain a clean, professional work environment
• Provide excellent customer service and create a positive patient experience
• Demonstrate organizational commitment and leadership behaviors
• Promote a positive image of the organization to patients, clients, employees, and the public

 
Job Requirements:

• Ability to deliver high-quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision
• Strong phlebotomy skills, including experience with pediatric and geriatric patients
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Proficiency with keyboarding and data entry
• Flexible availability to meet staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, and overtime

 
Education Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent (required)
• Medical training such as Medical Assistant or Paramedic preferred
• Phlebotomy certification preferred

              Certification is required in California, Nevada, and Washington
 
Work Experience:

• Minimum of 6 months of phlebotomy experience required
• One or more years of phlebotomy experience preferred
• Previous customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred
• Prior experience with data entry or electronic systems required
