Duration: 4 months, possibility of extension
Shift/Time Zone: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM (Rotating Saturdays)

Job Description:

The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) is responsible for interacting directly with patients, drawing high-quality blood samples, and preparing specimens for lab testing. This role requires a high level of professionalism and the ability to create a trusting and comfortable environment for patients. The PSR II is expected to follow established procedures while ensuring accuracy, safety, and quality in all tasks.

  • Key Responsibilities:

    • Perform both forensic and clinical specimen collection with confidence and accuracy, following all established protocols and procedures.

    • Verify patient information (e.g., demographic details and initials) and ensure that all specimens are correctly labeled in the presence of the patient.

    • Maintain confidentiality and accuracy with patient data and records.

    • Maintain a safe and professional environment while performing daily duties.

    • Demonstrate a commitment to process excellence and follow policies and procedures to ensure consistent quality work.

    • Perform multiple priorities in a high-volume setting and be available to work at various locations as needed.

    • Communicate effectively with patients, supervisors, and peers to provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive image for the company.

  • Job Requirements:

    • Ability to provide error-free work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.

    • Phlebotomy skills with expertise in pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.

    • Flexibility in working hours, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.

    • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record, if applicable.

    • Ability to handle multiple priorities and adapt to changing demands.

    • Demonstrates strong customer focus, good judgment, and the ability to communicate openly with others.

    • Adherence to all company policies including dress code and safety practices.

  • Required Education and Experience:

    • High school diploma or equivalent.

    • Medical training such as medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.

    • Phlebotomy certification (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).

    • A minimum of three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.

    • Experience in a Patient Service Center environment is preferred.

    • Customer service experience in a retail or service setting preferred.

    • Keyboard/data entry experience is necessary.




Working Conditions:

  • Work in a patient-facing role where you may be required to move between multiple locations, as needed, with minimal notice.

  • Must maintain a professional demeanor while providing high-quality service.

  • Adherence to health and safety guidelines and wearing protective equipment as required for blood draws.
