Job Title: Phlebotomist
Duartion: 3months
Location: Saint Louis MO
Shift: Mon-Fri 8:00-4:30
Overview:
The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the face of the organization, providing high-quality patient care by drawing blood specimens for lab testing. This role requires professionalism, technical phlebotomy skills, and strong customer service as patients often seek both routine care and critical diagnostic testing. PSRs ensure procedures are followed accurately and confidentially while delivering a positive and trusting patient experience.
Primary Responsibilities:
Perform accurate and safe venipuncture and specimen collection procedures (forensic and clinical)
Prepare and process specimens for laboratory testing according to established guidelines
Verify patient identity and demographic information, including label verification and patient initials/signature
Maintain accurate documentation and required records
Promote a safe, clean, and professional environment for patients and staff
Build rapport with patients, explaining procedures and reducing anxiety
Demonstrate Leadership Behaviors and a commitment to process excellence
Support the company’s values and mission in all patients and team interactions
Operational Duties:
Follow all daily activities and assignments accurately and on time under supervisor direction
Comply with company policies, including dress code, health and safety, and patient confidentiality
Maintain flexibility to work at different sites (Doctor’s offices, Patient Service Centers, In-Office Phlebotomy) based on business needs
Provide coverage with minimal notice, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent (REQUIRED)
Work Experience:
3+ years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections
Skills & Competencies:
Exceptional phlebotomy skills across diverse patient groups
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Demonstrated ability to multitask in high-volume environments
Strong customer service orientation and communication skills
Willingness to embrace change and new procedures
Sound judgment and decision-making within established procedures
Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record (if applicable)
Additional Information:
Must demonstrate professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity always
Training locations and schedules may vary depending on trainer availability
