Role Overview:
The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the primary point of contact for patients visiting our facility for health-related procedures or significant health decisions. This position involves collecting blood samples and preparing specimens for lab testing, while ensuring compliance with established practices and procedures. The PSR II interacts directly with patients to establish trust, explains procedures, and performs venipuncture with precision, skill, and care. Leadership qualities, confidentiality, and attention to detail in handling patient information are key responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:

Accurately perform daily tasks under the supervision of an area supervisor.

Ensure a safe and professional work environment.

Collect both forensic and clinical specimens following established protocols.

Verify patient demographics and post-venipuncture signatures for accurate labeling.

Maintain accurate records and documentation.

Represent the company in a positive manner to patients, clients, and colleagues.
Job Requirements:

Ability to perform quality work in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Expertise in phlebotomy, including pediatric and geriatric patients.

Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, and overtime as needed.

Strong decision-making skills, based on established procedures.

Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license (if applicable).

Willingness to travel and work across multiple locations as needed.

Ability to handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.

Open-mindedness toward change and a solid understanding of the business.
Training:
Training locations may vary depending on trainer availability.
Required Education:
-
High school diploma or equivalent (required).
-
Medical assistant or paramedic training (preferred).
-
Phlebotomy certification (required in California, Nevada, and Washington; preferred in other locations).
Work Experience:

Minimum of 3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.

At least 2 years of experience in a Patient Service Center environment (preferred).

Customer service experience in a retail or service setting (preferred).

Experience with keyboard/data entry.
