Phlebotomist II

Shift/Time Zone: 7:30am -4:30pm Mon, Tues, Thur 7;30 - 12:30 Wed & Fri
Duration: 3 Months (Contract)
Position Summary:
Under the direction of the area supervisor, the Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) performs daily patient-facing duties accurately, professionally, and on time. The PSR II is responsible for collecting quality blood specimens from patients in a clinical or office setting, ensuring safe, skillful, and accurate venipuncture and specimen processing while adhering to established practices and procedures. This role supports both routine health screening and critical diagnostic testing, and plays a key part in maintaining a safe and professional environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform clinical and forensic specimen collection with confidence, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary draws.

Accurately verify patient identity and demographic information, ensuring all specimens are properly labeled in the patient’s presence.

Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work area in compliance with company policies and safety guidelines.

Complete all documentation and recordkeeping as required, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy.

Demonstrate superior customer focus and organizational commitment through professional communication and a positive, service-oriented attitude.

Adapt to various working environments, including Patient Service Centers (PSC), in-office phlebotomy (IOP), or other assigned locations, as business needs require.

Promote a positive image to patients, clients, coworkers, and the general public.

Uphold the Company’s standards and policies including dress code, employee health and safety procedures, and Everyday Excellence Guiding Principles.
Qualifications:
Education & Training:
-
High school diploma or equivalent REQUIRED.
-
Medical training such as medical assistant or paramedic preferred.

Phlebotomy certification preferred, required in CA, NV, and WA.
Experience:
-
Minimum of 3 years phlebotomy experience required, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.

Minimum of 2 years in a Patient Service Center or similar setting preferred.

Prior customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.

Experience with keyboard/data entry required.
Skills & Competencies:

Strong phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric.

Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.

Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce error-free work in a fast-paced environment.

Demonstrated flexibility to accommodate weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, and overtime as needed.

Effective time management and prioritization skills in high-volume settings.

Clear communication skills with peers, supervisors, and patients.

Demonstrated ability to adapt to change and maintain composure under pressure.
Additional Requirements:

Must have reliable transportation (bus, rideshare not acceptable); valid driver's license and clean driving record may be required depending on site location.

Must be available for any assigned shift, arrive on time, and remain for the full duration of the shift.

Excessive absenteeism or tardiness will result in termination.

Training locations may vary based on trainer availability.

Candidates must reside within a 20–25-minute commute of the job site. Resume must include home city and commute time to jobsite for consideration.
