Job Duration: 3 Months+ Local /travel contract
Schedule: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, 5 days a week (40 hours/week)
Job Summary:
The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for the cleaning, processing, sterilization, and preparation of surgical instruments and patient care equipment. This role ensures proper sterilization techniques are followed and functions as a Case Cart Attendant in the Operating Room.

Job Summary:
The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for the cleaning, processing, sterilization, and preparation of surgical instruments and patient care equipment. This role ensures proper sterilization techniques are followed and functions as a Case Cart Attendant in the Operating Room.
Responsibilities:
- Clean, process, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments and patient care equipment according to departmental policies.
- Operate sterilization equipment (Steam, ETO, Starred, Steris) and conduct biological tests and Bowie Dick tests.
- Maintain accurate sterilization records, including proper labelling, interpreting chemical integrators, and verifying computerized printouts.
- Prepare case carts based on doctors' preferences and ensure timely delivery of required instruments and supplies to the Operating Room.
- Communicate with the nursing team regarding missing items or supply shortages.
- Lift up to 50 lbs. and push/pull up to 60 lbs. throughout the shift.
- Adhere to infection control practices, Universal Precautions, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least 1 year of Sterile Processing Technician experience in an acute care setting required.
- CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) or CBSPD (Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician) required.
- Knowledge of sterilization methods and infection control practices. Computer literacy and ability to use sterilization equipment.
