Duration: 5+ Months (Possible Extension)
Shift: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Rotational Saturdays: 6:30 AM – 11:00 AM
Job Description
The Phlebotomist I / Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the frontline representative of the organization, interacting directly with patients who arrive for routine tests or critical health insights. This position is responsible for collecting highquality blood specimens and preparing them for laboratory testing while adhering to all safety, procedural, and quality standards.
The PSR I creates a positive patient experience by maintaining professionalism, demonstrating confidence in phlebotomy skills, and fostering trust while explaining procedures and ensuring patient comfort. This role requires attention to detail, confidentiality, and adherence to established protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily phlebotomy and specimen processing activities accurately and efficiently under the direction of an area supervisor.
- Create and maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment.
- Confidently perform forensic and clinical specimen collection following all established procedures.
- Maintain complete and accurate records, logs, and documentation.
- Demonstrate strong organizational commitment and uphold a positive image of the organization with patients, clients, coworkers, and the public.
- Deliver highquality, errorfree work in a fastpaced setting.
- Maintain confidentiality and accuracy when handling patient information.
- Work independently with minimal onsite supervision.
- Ensure excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric draws.
- Provide toptier customer service to all patients.
- Remain flexible for staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, oncall hours, and overtime.
Required Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent – REQUIRED
- Medical assistant or paramedic training – Preferred
- Phlebotomy certification – Preferred (Mandatory for CA, NV, and WA)
Experience
- Minimum 6 months of phlebotomy experience – REQUIRED
- 1+ years of phlebotomy experience – Preferred
- Previous customer service experience in a retail or service setting – Preferred
- Keyboarding and data entry proficiency – Required
Additional Requirements
- Candidates must have reliable personal transportation (bus, Uber, or rideshare is not accepted).
- Must be punctual, available for all scheduled shifts, and able to remain for the full shift.
- Excessive absenteeism or tardiness may result in termination.
- Must reside within a 20–25 minute commute to the worksite; home city and commute time must be listed on the resume.
- Pay rate is based on years of direct, verifiable experience (overlapping roles are not counted twice).
