Phlebotomist I
Job Title: Phlebotomist I
Job Location: Henderson, NV
Job Duration: 4+ months (possible extension)
Shift: Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm
Pay rate: $19 - 23/hr. on W2
Position Summary
The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the primary point of contact for patients, representing the organization with professionalism and care. This role involves collecting quality blood specimens, preparing them for laboratory testing, and ensuring accurate and safe procedures. The PSR I builds trust with patients by clearly explaining procedures and performing phlebotomy with skill, precision, and compassion. A strong focus on confidentiality, accuracy, and process excellence is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily activities accurately and in a timely manner under the direction of the area supervisor
- Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment
- Collect and process clinical and forensic specimens following established procedures
- Ensure proper documentation and record maintenance
- Deliver high-quality patient care while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy
- Promote a positive image of the organization to patients, clients, and the public
- Demonstrate organizational commitment and leadership behaviors
Job Requirements
- Ability to deliver accurate, error-free work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric experience
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, and overtime as needed
Education Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Medical assistant or paramedic training (preferred)
- Phlebotomy certification (preferred; required in certain states)
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 6 months of phlebotomy experience (required)
- 1+ years of phlebotomy experience (preferred)
- Customer service experience in a retail or service environment (preferred)
- Strong data entry and keyboarding skills (required)
