Duration: 3+ months (Possible Extension) contract with potential for permanent hire
Pay Rate: $29/hr. on W2
Schedule: 3rd Shift – 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM
Hours: 40 hours/week, 8 hours/day, 5 days/week

The Sterile Processing Quality Control Technician ensures the highest standards of instrument cleanliness, assembly accuracy, and quality assurance in sterile processing. This role goes beyond standard sterile processing duties by performing detailed inspection, documentation, and quality assurance to maintain patient safety and process reliability.

Job Summary:
The Sterile Processing Quality Control Technician ensures the highest standards of instrument cleanliness, assembly accuracy, and quality assurance in sterile processing. This role goes beyond standard sterile processing duties by performing detailed inspection, documentation, and quality assurance to maintain patient safety and process reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Follow ANSI/AAMI standards, manufacturer Instructions for Use (IFUs), SOPs, and company Work Instructions.
- Decontaminate, disassemble, clean, and reassemble surgical instruments.
- Accurately assemble and package instrument trays and sets.
- Operate washers, sterilizers, and other processing equipment safely.
- Inspect instruments for cleanliness, functionality, and damage; document any issues.
- Maintain accurate records of sterilization cycles, instrument tracking, and inventory.
- Handle instruments and customer-owned items carefully to prevent damage.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of lab equipment and workstations.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams, operations personnel, and distribution staff.
- Provide workflow feedback and suggest process improvements.
- Participate in training and maintain required certifications.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions:
- Fast-paced, climate-controlled indoor environment.
- Frequent exposure to biohazardous materials, strong odors, and moderate noise.
- Standing for extended periods and regular use of PPE.
Education & Certification:
- Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Required Certification: CRCST or CIS (Sterile Processing Certification).
Required Skills & Experience:
- 2+ years of hands-on sterile processing experience.
- Strong knowledge of surgical instruments, sterilization techniques, and infection control.
- Experience with washer disinfectors, autoclaves, and related equipment.
- Excellent attention to detail, manual dexterity, and hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to work under pressure, multitask, and prioritize effectively.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Collaborative, professional, reliable, and proactive.
- Willingness to receive required vaccinations and health screenings.
Preferred Skills:
- Previous experience in quality control.
