Job Title: Critical Care Technician
Location: Menomonee Falls, WI 53051
Duration: 10/27/2025 – 01/23/2026
Shift: 3rd Shift, 19:00 – 07:30
Schedule: 12-hour nights, every other weekend, float as needed




Required Skills & Experience

  • Basic Nursing Skills (as delegated by RN): bed making, taking vital signs, measuring height/weight, caring for patient environment, measuring fluid/nutrient intake/output, walking/transferring patients with appropriate equipment

  • Personal Care Skills (as delegated by RN): bathing, skin care, mouth care, grooming, dressing, toileting, assisting with eating and hydration

  • Basic Restorative Services: maintain patient functioning using assistive devices, prosthetic care, range-of-motion exercises, turning/positioning/transferring patients

  • Critical Care Technical Skills (delegated by RN): peripheral phlebotomy, blood draws using a vamp, discontinuing ART lines, point-of-care testing, other unit-specific technical tasks

  • Relationship-Based Care: develop/maintain patient relationships, enhance patient experience, follow care plans, effective listening

  • Teamwork & Collaboration: participate as a member of the healthcare team, promote respectful environment, partner to positively impact patient care



Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Completion of Critical Care Tech course or equivalent within 6 months of hire



Licensure & Certifications

  • State of Wisconsin Nursing Assistant Certification required OR current enrollment in nursing program with documentation of successful basic nursing course completion and at least one acute care med/surg rotation

  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or AHA-approved equivalent



Job Summary

  • Provides delegated age-appropriate care under RN supervision in Critical Care Units

  • Performs tasks outlined in clinical competency assessment, including basic nursing, personal care, restorative, and critical care technical skills

  • Observes patient safety continuously and communicates concerns

  • Completes hourly rounding, interacts with patients using AIDET, collaborates with healthcare team

  • Demonstrates effective verbal, nonverbal, and written communication

  • Completes handoff reports and documents abnormal findings to RNs promptly

  • Participates in quality improvement initiatives and promotes safe, healthy environment

  • Other duties as assigned
