Job Title: Phlebotomist I
Location: Plainview, NY - 92704
Duration: 6+ months of Contract + Extension
Pay Range: $17 - $20/hr. on W2
Shift:
- A Schedule 8:00 am – 3:00 pm
- B Schedule 9:00 am – 3:00 pm
- Sat 6:00 am – 12:00 pm
Job Summary:
- The Patient Services Representative I represents the face of the company to patients, whether they are undergoing routine health evaluations or seeking critical health information.
- This role involves drawing quality blood samples and preparing them for laboratory testing while following established procedures.
- The PSR I creates an atmosphere of trust and confidence by providing professional and compassionate care during specimen collection.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily activities accurately and timely under the supervision of the area supervisor.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment.
- Confidently and skillfully perform both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing.
- Ensure all records and documentation are accurate and maintained as required.
- Interact with patients, clients, coworkers, and the public in a positive and professional manner.
- Follow established practices and procedures to ensure high-quality, error-free results.
- Use straight needles and an EMR (Electronic Medical Records) program effectively.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Required).
Experience:
- Minimum 6 months of related experience required.
Skills and Competencies:
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric draws.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Sensitivity to patient confidentiality.
- Proficiency with EMR systems.
- Must be comfortable using straight needles.
Work Schedule Requirements:
- Flexible availability based on staffing needs.
- Must be available to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as required.
