ENTRY Phlebotomist I

Overview
The Entry Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) is the welcoming face of our organization and plays a key role in supporting patients during their visit. This role focuses on exceptional customer care, lobby management, and learning core phlebotomy skills to grow within the company.
The Entry PSR I greets patients upon arrival, assists with check-in, answers questions with care and compassion, and maintains the cleanliness and professionalism of the waiting area. As part of their development, the Entry PSR I will receive training in phlebotomy and eventually assist with coverage during breaks or downtime.
The person in this role contributes directly to a positive patient experience by building trust, clearly explaining what patients can expect during their visit, and ensuring all interactions are handled safely, respectfully, and accurately.
Key Responsibilities

Perform daily tasks accurately and on time under the direction of the Area Supervisor.

Greet patients, assist with check-in using self-service kiosks or handheld tablets, and provide compassionate support.

Maintain a safe, clean, and professional waiting area (“front-of-house”).

Maintain required records and documentation with accuracy and confidentiality.

Present a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.

Demonstrate a willingness to learn new skills, including phlebotomy.

Once trained, confidently perform clinical and forensic specimen collection following established procedures.
Requirements
Core Skills & Abilities

Strong customer service experience and excellent communication skills (critical requirement).

Compassion and professionalism when interacting with patients.

Ability to learn phlebotomy skills and willingness to perform blood draws as part of the role.

Ability to use and navigate digital tools (kiosks, tablets, data entry systems).

Ability to maintain accuracy, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
Education
-
High school diploma or equivalent (Required).
Work Experience
-
1–2 years of customer-facing experience (Required) — retail, hospitality, home health aide, service roles, etc.

Prior phlebotomy experience not required (training provided).

Data entry and keyboarding experience required.
Additional Requirements
-
Reliable transportation is required (bus/Uber/rideshare is not considered reliable for this role).

Must arrive on time, work all scheduled shifts, and remain for the full duration.

Excessive absenteeism or tardiness may result in termination.

Candidates must live within a 20–25 minute commute of the worksite to ensure coverage reliability.

Must be willing and able to train in and perform phlebotomy. Candidates seeking only a front desk or greeter role should not apply.
